• Rays with dashed lines: ideal rays

• Rays with solid lines: real rays

• n and n’: refractive indices of object and image spaces, respectively

• h: object height

• h’_real: image height for real rays

• h’_ideal: image height for ideal rays (h’_ideal = $h*magnification = h {s'\over s} {n \over n'}$)
