2. Simulation
In SMD PRO, metalenses can be simulated for focusing and imaging. You can switch between these modes by clicking the tab buttons (image below) on top of SIMUULATE module. The software computes results based on the unit cell data such as phase and transmittance. Results may deviate from actual lens behaviors if simulated at incidence angles different than the angle where the unit cell data were obtained; typically normal incidence. This also means that the confidence of accuracy in imaging simulation results is higher if ray angles from the point source are smaller.
